Although there are, numerous hairstyles to choose from some of them serve purposes other than appearances. In some cases if there is a particular problem with the hair, a specific technique can be used to rectify the problem. In the case of the feathering techniques, its additional purpose beyond the style is to create a much softer flowing look to the hair yet provide some texture to it as well. For those individuals who really favor the shagged style the feathering technique is perfect to achieve this.

The best technique and most successful way of achieving the feather can be accomplished on either wet or dry hair. Whatever the stylist feels most adept at working with. When you take a section of the hair, it is important that you hold it taunt. The way you hold your scissors is important because they must be fanned across the hair shaft. You will be cutting in a forward direction what holding an 80-90 degree again the hair ensuring your scissor is open no more than two thirds. It?s the end of the shaft of hair that you will be cutting so you must extend the section but firmly hold the end.

You need to begin cutting in close proximity to you fingers at the same time cutting in a fanning motion. You need to determine the type of affect you are after as this will determine how much you should move upwards. Up to about 10cm at the most. If you are familiar with the techniques of using a razor then you will find the feathering technique rather easy. You will be cutting the hair ends of the V of scissors which is where the two blades meet. If you attempt to hold the scissors open too much, you will see that the scissors begin to catch. Although this is an easy technique, it takes a bit of getting use to. Not too many people will want you practicing on their hair so consider using a doll that has long hair to practice on. A great source for these is at yard sales. This type of client at least will not complain about your mistakes.

Don?t even attempt the feathering technique without the proper pair of scissors. The most favored is the medium precision and even better is a cobalt alloy with a cutting edge that is angled at 45 degrees. Don?t rush out and buy a brand new pair for the occasion if you have a relatively new set around that is about six months used. These will in fact due a much better job but we are not referring to old damaged scissors. If you attempt this style with high precision scissor, you are going to run into problem. High precision scissors are far too sharp for this job. Along with the edges being too fine. What happens is these types of scissors will skin the hair as opposed to creating the texture. You will end up splitting the ends of the hair.

It important that if you are going to attempt a detailed technique such as feathering that you use the proper tools. Without them no matter how good your skills are, you will not achieve the desired results.

Most of the women of color have had their own experiences of struggling with their afro hair. This has encouraged them to make their move of having their hair relaxed and straightened out more willingly than embracing their natural curls.

The natural curls have this fantastic look, and often have a cool and funky edge. In spite of this to be able to make most out of the afro hair, it is very vital to treat the natural curls properly. The main and most typical dilemma that the women of color will be facing with their afro hair is the frizzies. To be able to tame the frizzies, treat your natural curls well and using some hair moisturizer whilst your hair is still damp.

If your hair is thick, then you had better opt for creams instead, and if your have finer frizzy hair, a moisturizing lotion will be fine. You also have to keep in mind that you have to stay away from any heavy and sticky products such as waxes because they will dry your hair out and encourage more frizzes.

Aside from avoiding waxes, you have to avoid any product that contains even the smallest, tiniest microscopic level of alcohol that is every so often found in hairspray. Apart from treating your hair well, having a good hairstyle that will fix your natural curls is another good option.

I have to applaud a woman of color who has short hair and openly embraces their natural curls, obtaining a chic and carefree outcome with their short hair. You can wear your short hairstyles straight along with rows of flawlessly lined small curls that are done weekly by your hairdresser or at a wash-and-go Afro.

Short hair can give you that more carefree and classic look, and not just that, but it will also highlight most of your features. You can always have a talk with your stylist and ask for his or her opinion on what will complement the shape of your face.

Braiding is also a hairstyle that will be perfect for women of color. By using the hair extensions, the short hair becomes longer and the thin hair becomes thicker. You have the preference of choosing the classic businesslike braid style that is braided together with the ends being twisted into a bun at the nape of the neck. However, you have to be careful still, is the hair is braided too tight it will result in thinning of the hair and may even cause bald spots.

Wearing your natural hairstyle will make you feel more untroubled about yourself and your do. What you need to do with your natural hairstyle is to do a two stand twist every after washing your hair and then put conditioner on the twists and let them be for a few days. It will be a big help for you when in accounts of saving more money that would or else be spent for your hairdresser every month.

However, if you really want to straighten up your hair then that is fine, but if you are more happy and comfortable with your natural curls then why not try these hairstyles for women of color to be of help.

Are you looking out for the right kind of hairstyle that can match your face shape? Then you can get some interesting tips here to help you decide on the best hairstyle that can dramatically transform your physical appearance.

Choosing a good hairstyle requires careful consideration of various factors, otherwise there are high chances of spoiling your physical beauty. The main purpose of a good hairstyle is to accentuate certain physical features by hiding the flaws to enhance your beauty to attract more attention. All of us have imperfections like a round face, high forehead, large nose, square chin that can at times get distracting and annoying. However, it is possible to conceal such small flaws and look much younger and beautiful, using some smart hairstyles that can go well with your face shape.

Sometimes, even the best dress and make up may fail to live upto the expectations that can hamper all your party plans. In such cases, it is best to seek advice from a qualified hairdresser who can suggest the right hairstyle suited to your kind of face. Many people do not realize that the shape of their face does matter while choosing the right hairstyle. One must remember that styles, which may be in vogue, may not make necessarily make the person look gorgeous.

Good hairstyles that suit one?s face can help in giving a more balanced look to the face and cover up minor flaws with little adjustments. Here are a few tips, which can help you in deciding the right kind of hairstyle to blend with your face:

-Generally, people with round faces can pick up hairstyles that can lend a slim and longer look to the face. It is preferable to have shoulder length hair to give more length so that the face appears more proportionate.

-Side fringes may also help in reducing width of the face and make the chin look more sleek and slender. As far as possible, try to avoid hairstyles like blunt cuts, bobs that can add more volume to the face.

-If you have a square and angular appearance, then it is best to select a hairstyle to add more soft layers to the face. Choose hairstyles that lend more volume to your forehead and it is best to stay away from short and cropped look.

-Those with heart shaped faces can select a hairstyle to add additional width to their narrow chin and can use lot of layering or even bob cuts that can work to their advantage.

-Oval shaped faces can try out different hairstyles as there are plenty of unique ones, which can match this kind of face shape.

It is necessary to take some of these small tips into account while choosing the right hairstyle. In addition, the texture and color of your hair along with your body shape can make a lot of difference while selecting the best hairstyle. Professional consultation with a good hairstylist can be valuable in picking the hairstyle which best suits your kind of face.

Most of this knowledge you are going to gain from the training you will receive when you start your course. The natural attributes that are going to be required of you is being able to absorb the theory part, which means you will know how to do the techniques. This requires your cognitive skills. The second part will be the application of that knowledge, or doing the service, which now relies on your psychomotor skills. You may be the type of individual who learns better by hands on experience but in this industry, your book learning or theory is critically important. Most of the male athletes will opt for the very short hairstyles because of their athletic involvement. They want something that is simple and easy to keep and not have to fuss with.

The same thing applies for the athletic female the problem is though that she wants more versatility to the ways that she can wear her hair and not have to sacrifice her fashion for her athletic involvement. There are a couple of things that can be done in this case.

For example, the athlete can still have the long hair it is just a matter of pulling it back and up during the time that she is involved in her sport or activity. In this case, you will find that usually with the long hair after rigorous activity that the hair will have to be washed more often and this means longer drying periods and styling.

The one advantage of having the short hairstyles and being an athlete is that it is very easy to wash your hair afterwards and style it. If one wants to go onto different types of hairstyles that are versatile for the athlete then probably one of the most common and versatile would be the bob cut. The bob cut has a unique way of blending in with whatever the fashion wardrobe is at the time. It can have a very sporty look just by leaving it plain or just taking it back with a headband.

On the other hand, for wear that is more formal it can be spruced up a bit with a bit of mousse to give it a fuller look and you can add some hair decor such as a small flower or a jeweled pin of some type.

One of the important things to realize when you are getting a hairstyle that is going to go with the athlete is that you don’t want a style where the hair is going to be constantly falling into the eyes. Even if you have shorter look at the front and a bit longer at the back most often you will perspire on the nape of your neck and you do not want your hair sticking and irritating you.

If you like, your hair short but you do not like that flat look that really should not be a problem for you. When you are working out or involved in your sports activity you can let your hair just flow naturally. When you are outside of your activities you want to give your hair more body and that is one of the ideal solutions for the short hair to give it a different look simply add some mousse to it and make sure it gets to the roots.

A really cute spiked look can be done very nicely with a super short haircut that is perfect for the sports activities as well.

Picking the right hairstyle for the athlete is very important because the hair really does go through a lot of abuse as it is often wet with perspiration and is pushed back quite a bit. It has to be washed on perhaps on a even a more regular basis then normal. So therefore, it is important if the hair is going to be kept in good condition that it be the right styles and the right haircut.
